Hi Doodles Followers!
Moms, Dads, and Grads! Unlike the winter holiday season, May and June can catch even the most thoughtful gift giver off guard. Suddenly, there's a flurry of people to shop for -- all the moms, dads, and graduates in your life. Whether it's a scrapbook filled with momento's for a mother or a handmade card for a grad, the items on this post have all the markings for a perfect gift: personal, useful, and tough to outdo next year!
CREATE TO REMEMBER. Collage effect video by Heidi Swapp showing a unique candle wax techneque fo a notebook and chip board binder scrapbook or art journal ... great graduation, Mother's/Father's Day gift! A project to take you outside your box-of-creating!
SILVER PLATTER DISPLAY BOARDS. My Craft Channel's video by Teresa Collins shares her love of home decor to show how to create your own Magnetic Display Board by repurposing silver platters found in your home, your local Dollar Store, or garage sales and even Goodwill's. In addition, there's other wonderful Teresa Collins video ideas listed to view as well!
Cutting has to be theraputic in creating this project and what a beautiful Mother's Day gift idea -- even if mom isn't a tea-sipper! Vicki Chrisman, a Nebraska native too, tells what she did and used to create this stamped mixed media piece at The Art That Makes Me Happy. Something any mother would enjoy seeing as a decor piece! :0)
Below is the stamp set used for this project!
Gina K's Cuttlebugged Wax Paper video shows you how-to-technique to create a background paper that is subtle and unique. Click on the Related YouTube Video Logo along side the video you're viewing for another Cuttlebug Wax Paper technique idea!
Antiqued Acid Mirror - Have you seen the acid mirror projects around the internet?! Several blogs have tutorials and features, but find that Amy took her acid mirror look even further and dressed it up with typography! See her photo-how-to procedure at The Idea Room.
WASHI TAPE - It may not be super-duper high quality but Morgan's idea to make your own washi tape for all kinds of projects is simply a great idea. Follow her tutorial at Momma Blinks and Bubble. Morgan also shows you a great way to 'store' your tape creation too!
Flowering Watermelon Garden - You've got to bookmark this food idea for your next party, or any summer event, family get-together, and the list goes on; fruit on a stick is much easier to eat on a stick and a nice alternative for fruit that is drippy! Flowering Watermelon Garden tutorial (and don't forget to make a print-out of this idea). Makes you want to plan a party right now!!!!
