DZ Doodles New Month, New Things: Ouilt Inspirations, Wet Felt, Photo Jewelry, Felted & Yarn Eggs, My Memories Suite V3 $10 OFF

Hi Doodles Followers!

Happy April everyone--can you believe we're a quarter of the way through the year already?! April is not only the month that brings us April showers for our May flowers, it also brings you a lot of great new stuff at Oodles of Doodles News! I'm talkin' info on classes available out there, news about workshops, pattern finds, an assortment of projects, freebie DZ Doodles Digi images, and more!

The boss, Chloe (our nearly two year old four-legger) runs the whole DZ Designs operation as she sits on my drawing table to keep an eye on what I am doing. I was finally able to get a photo of Chloe because she always seems to become camera-shy when I pull out the camera and I seldom get a sweet photo like this one.

Here's Just About the Details mixed media piece on a 12" x 12" canvas with an oil based owl ... whooo doesn't love the owl?! Acrylic paints can be used to re-create the owl for those, like me, allergic to oil paints! Use a bunch of those acrylic stamps and rub-ons without any rhyme or reason that have been in your stash for forever! Projects like this are perfect to use up your stash of paper scraps that you've also accummulated.

EASTER BLESSINGS scrapbook page or wall art?! Here's a lovely twist ... burlap and floral fabric material stitched down to some cardstock and pink paper, etc., etc., ... check out some of Nancy's up-close detail pictures on Just About the Details!

LET'S SMELL the FLOWERS! Heniela organized a cookie blogger event, a collection of cookie flower cleverness tutorials from 19 cookie decorating bloggers. Haniela and the other 19 bloggers have included links to one anothers post at the end of each decorator's turtorial post so that you can spend a bit of time learning how to decorate these spiecies of flowers.

LaBlanche Stamps are made from sturdy high quality silicone and withstand things, like heat, that other stamps might not. The owner of LaBlanche shares a cool UTEE video technique on Scrap Time for pouring UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Powder) over their stamp blocks to make amazing glossy embellishments. So cool, or should I say ... so UTEE!

PASTEL FELTED and YARN EGGS! No, it isn't knitted or crocheted but IT is done in yarn! Yarn wrapped or needle felted, these Easter eggs are memorable keepsakes to cherish and are just waiting to be included in a basket. The tutorials, as well as tuts for lots of other eggs and Easter decor are found at Crafts 'n Coffee.

Fun Photo Jewelry! Now I'm not much on jewelry making as my daughter, Paula's creative outlet takes care of that at, Paula Gerber Designs. But I'm lovin' this combo of bracelet and photo's idea to treasure forever. Your Mom, Grandmother, sister, aunt, wife or best friend will love this new instant and easy to make photo jewelry glass topped stretch photo bracelet that includes, get this, everything you need to make FIVE COMPLETE EIGHT FRAME glass photo bracelets!

This finished quilt that started in a Jean Wells' workshop Intuitive Color and Design 2 by maker, Terri, and called her Greece project said it didn't turn out as she planned ... I'd say it turned out amazing! Stitchin' Post In Sisters. For me it's 'inspiration' for all those paper scraps I've accummulate from making other craft projects and haven't the heart to just toss them out. I'm thinking of 12" x 12" sheets created by pasting leftovers in a jumbled pattern to reuse in other projects.

Wet felted Easter Eggs. With Easter just a hop-skip-jump away you'll need to get down to seriously crafty business to make these felted Easter eggs this year (or save the idea for next Easter projects). Many of you probably know hot to 'wet felt' already, but like me, just in case you didn't Rosina shares how she did it at Rosey-Posy

Any time of the year candlesticks are the quickest thing to decorate with whether it's for the holiday's, special events or everyday. It adds ambiance to any rooms decor. If you want to learn how to make these cuties then hop-on-over to CSI PROJECT (Create Something Inspiring). The base of this could be constructed to apply any ornamental object that you'd like to use.

Be sure to "thank' Natt Smith of Awesomeness of Crafting for her "Monthly Circle Label" downloadable freebie that fit a 1-inch circle punch!

Every once in a while someone posts a crazy-quilt that is so unusual, that I have to share it's inspirational qualities for papercrafters. This block by Janie J. of Alabama USA is a perfect example; soft sculpture stones around the pond, the bird house dimensions, whoa the tree, the flowers! Check out the fabric mixture that could easily be replaced by using textured paper variations.

Hurry up, Easter's just a few days away but you'll have plenty of time left to purchase this cute bunny pre-color template, print it out-cut-score 'n fold and glue together in time to include one in a basket or two!
